Operators (Teams)
An operator is a team in FS Reality. Think of it as a virtual airline or flight company. Operators let pilots work together, share resources, and build something bigger than a solo career.
What Operators Offer
- Shared aircraft. Operators can own aircraft that any member can use.
- Shared bank account. Operators have their own balance, separate from personal accounts.
- Shared hangars. Operators can rent hangar space for their fleet.
- Payout splitting. When a member flies operator assignments, earnings are split between the pilot and the operator based on a configurable percentage.
- Roles and permissions. Members have different levels of access depending on their role.
Roles
Every operator has three roles:
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Owner | The person who created the operator. Has all permissions. Cannot be changed. |
| Admin | A promoted member with configurable permissions set by the owner. |
| Member | A standard member with configurable permissions set by the owner. |
The owner decides which permissions Admins and Members have.
Key Permissions
- ManageSettings: Change operator name, description, color, payout percentage, invite-only mode, and role permissions
- ManageBanking: Access the operator’s bank account and make transfers
- ManageUsers: Invite new members, change roles, and remove members
Joining an Operator
There are two ways to join:
- Public join. If the operator is not invite-only, you can find it through the operator search and join directly.
- Invitation. An operator member with the right permissions sends you an invite. You’ll see it in your notifications and can accept or decline.
Limits
- You can belong to up to 3 operators at a time.
- Operator names and codes must be unique.
- You cannot leave an operator while you have active flights or rentals tied to it.
- Only the owner can delete an operator, and only if the operator has no aircraft.
